Our story began during a road trip in the 1990s, where our founders, Will and Andy, travelled across America collecting vintage items while living out of motels. They started purchasing vintage clothing in the USA and selling it wholesale, which eventually led to the creation of stores. From there, they began designing reworked vintage pieces, and thus, Motel was born.

Over 30 years and a team of 200+ people later, every piece of clothing we make is created with the same spirit of fun, freedom and adventure as the road trip that first defined the brand. We’re still ambitious and independent, but now we’re a global team - we work from an operational base in Worcester, a design studio in London and a creative studio in Bali.

E-COMMERCE ADMINISTRATOR SUPERVISOR

Motel’s websites are the backbone of our customer experience and are where we showcase our amazing garments. We’re seeking an organised individual to work alongside the Web Store Manager as our E-commerce Administrator Supervisor. You’ll deliver against our operational standards and support the development and training of our teams.

This is an important role and requires input into several areas of the business to keep our websites up-to-date, problem-free and looking great.

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Leading by example and coaching others where needed on best practices
• Responsible for delegating tasks to the team appropriately
• A team player and instrumental in team briefs, including leading these in management's absence to ensure the team is set up with the information and motivation to achieve targets
• To seek out opportunities to train and develop the team to promote the efficient and smooth running of the web store
• Filling out product specifications and assigning the relevant subcategories
• Online Visual Merchandising
• Managing digital content on all Motel’s online channels, ensuring everything is uploaded and merchandised on time
• Content creation for product listings; writing unique product descriptions and other product specifications and uploading to multiple online marketplaces
• Optimising product information on-site
• Building Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok Ads across all regions
• Responding and managing DMs on social platforms
• Building weekly company reports for the E-Commerce Manager

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate should have a high level of attention to detail, be able to spot and rectify mistakes and use their logic skills to troubleshoot simple website presentation issues. We’d also love to see:

• Strong administration and organisational skills
• Ability to self-manage and meet targets
• Competent in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
• Good interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of SEO
• Strong interest in fashion
• E-commerce experience (preferably Shopify back-office knowledge)
• High level of competency in English grammar and punctuation for copywriting
• Marketplace experience with companies similar to Zalando
• Evidence of having built ads on Facebook and TikTok Ads Manager is preferable but not essential
• French or German speaker desirable but not essential
